Welcome note

The Brazilian Symposium on Theoretical Chemistry (SBQT) completes 38 years in 2019. Its 20 th edition will be held, for the first time, in the Northeast of Brazil. Already established as the most important event in the area of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry in Brazil and other regions of Latin America, SBQT is a biannual event and brings together researchers from different areas of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Material Science to discuss the recent advances and challenges on the development of theoretical and computational methods as well as the usage and improvement of experimental techniques. In this SBQT, the easternmost one of the Americas, we will have the opportunity to promote, disseminate, and share knowledge about the latest advances in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, as well as to establish closer relations with experimental chemistry in one of the most beautiful cities in Northeastern Brazil: João Pessoa, PB. Keeping the tradition of the event, the conference program of the present edition will have a diversified character aiming to contemplate various research areas of Theoretical Physics and Chemistry active in Brazil. We will have lectures by invited Brazilian and foreign speakers, oral communications and poster presentations in the scientific program.
